Paolo Saverio di Zinno,
the sculptor from Campobasso (1718-1781) was a clever man. Thanks to the
support of Filippo Mazzarotta he was pupil in Naples of Giacomo Colombo.
Despite having left ample evidence of his talent in works which
highlight a clear re-interpretation of the canons of religious sculpture,
the name of Di Zinno, who worked in Dalmatia as well, has always been
linked to the Mysteries, the "living machines" that
parade through Campobasso on the day of Corpus Domini.
