Amedeo
Trivisonno produced numerous works in the religious buildings of the
Molise. Special attention needs to be given to the paintings he worked
on in 1933 and in 1938 at the Cathedral of Santa Maria
Maggiore at Campobasso, above all the Multiplication of
the loaves and fishes and the Last Supper. The Last
Supper is an ingenious creation. Christ and the Apostles occupy the
centre of the painting. All around, enveloped in a sort of nebula which
emphasises the distance in time between the various characters, God
himself stands in the centre surrounded by the Universe and then by
hosts of angels, lower down the prophets, Abraham, Melchisedec, ancient
nomads of the desert.

Campobasso

The
theme of the Last Supper is taken up again in other religious
buildings in the region as well. At Campochiaro, for example, in
the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, where the artist also
painted the Assumption of the Virgin and the Ascension of
Christ and at Baranello (Church of Saint Michael the
Archangel - 1949).

The
celebration of the grandiose is the characteristic feature of the Glorification
of Mary (1945 - Church of Santa Maria del Monte – Campobasso).
Here Trivisonno also left a Padre Pio with the Virgin and alongside
Christ carrying the Cross (1972).

Castelpetroso

In
his last period of activity the artist worked at Castelpetroso in
painting the Sorrows of the Grieving Virgin, first in the seven
panels in the Church of San Martino Vescovo, then with the
large canvases in the Sanctuary of the Lady of Our Sorrows.
