The Sanctuary |
Designed
by Francesco Gualanti, the neo-Gothic Sanctuary of the Madonna
Addolorata of Castelpetroso was built between the 19th
and 20th centuries, following the apparition of the Virgin to
two shepherdesses on 22nd March 1888.

Sanctuary |
Nowadays, the sanctuary
displays a notable series of paintings by Amedeo Trivisonno. In the
neighbourhood, the chapel “of the Apparition” and the miraculous
spring can also be visited.
