He is without doubt a very
prominent figure in the history of the Molise. Vincenzo Cuoco was born
at Civitacampomarano (CB) on 1st October 1770. He was
the instigator and protagonist of the Neapolitan Revolution.

After
this had ended in failure, from his exile in France, he talked about
that experience in the Historical essay on the Neapolitan Revolution
of 1799. He returned to Italy in Milan. In 1806, with the coming of
Joseph Bonaparte, he entered into the Royal Council of Naples, where he
died on 14th December, 1823.
